Life Back On the Grid??

It feels GREAT to have internet access again!!! My husband and I were finally able to purchase a new computer, so I'll be able to blog more. This makes me HAPPY!!!

Being without a computer since August, it's almost like our little family has been living off the grid. Checking social media, emails, etc. isn't very tempting when you've got only your cell phone to work with (in my own experience, anyways).

So much has happened since my last post!

My oldest daughter was diagnosed with ADHD several months ago. The result has been that we've completely changed how we work with her on her school work, etc. Since starting her with treatment, she has absolutely excelled in school! She's ahead of her grade level on reading now, and was recently awarded the Star Student award. Words can't describe how proud I am of her for how far she's come this school year!!!

Eagerly Awaiting the Tax Return..

My blogging is going to pick back up soon! We (our household) are eagerly awaiting our tax return, and then the first order of business is to invest in a new laptop.

Words cannot express how truly excited I am!;

Life Here Lately

It has been a long few weeks for my family!

We have been without a computer, so blogging has been difficult. I wanted to give a few life updates though!

Wednesday, Gail gave us a really big scare with a severe cyanotic episode. 911 was called that morning, and we spent all day in 2 different emergency rooms. I have literally NEVER been as scared as I was during her episode! The doctors are thinking it may have been a seizure, so the referral was put in for neuro, and we're waiting for them to call with an appointment.

Thursday, Gail had her cardio appointment. Her left side structures are growing nicely, but the right side of her heart is a little too big, so open heart surgery may be sooner rather than later. This COMING Thursday, she's scheduled for a spleen scan to check her splenic function.

As for yesterday? My 5 year old had a little too much fun on the 4 Wheeler, and is now sporting stitches.

It's pretty safe to say that this mama is ready for an emotional meltdown after how the last few days have played out, haha!

Here's to hoping that all of my readers have a wonderful and positive week!!

Fried Computer...

Our household computer has been having many issues lately! The result is that our computer won't even START now. As a result, my posts may be less frequent until we get a new computer (a tablet can only do so much).

I'm still going to aim for posting the Chronicle coupons on Sundays, it just may take a little longer!

For now, I'm off to drink some coffee as I try not to cry over the loss of our computer, haha! Have a great day, everyone!

Last Week's Adventures!

I know, I know...I'm late on posting about last week's adventures!! Life happens....and so do massive, crippling, toothaches (more on that at another time). Anyways, the pain has subsided, so it's time to finally get around to posting!

For the most part, things were fairly quiet last week. I didn't feel like running to the grocery store, so I got creative with things that we already had on-hand in our food supply. I try to bake at least one treat a week for our family. It's cheap to bake from scratch, and I love to keep our taste buds satisfied!

Digging through our pantry & fridge, I found two of my favorite ingredients: white chocolate chips, and cream cheese! Naturally, I got on Pinterest to see if there were any delicious recipes with a combination of the two. Our treat for the week ended up being white chocolate cream cheese cookies! Granted, you couldn't really taste the cream cheese in them (I couldn't, anyways), but they did have a more chewy texture than the white chocolate cookies I usually make, so that's a plus! I'll definitely be reusing this recipe in the future!

Our Little Step Back Into History

The girls and I had quite a busy day Wednesday! We hadn't really done much this summer, and I wanted them to be able to have a few enjoyable experiences (while staying frugal, of course)! I had our day planned out weeks in advance, as there was one particular experience that I was aiming for us all to enjoy!

History is one thing that I absolutely LOVE. Pictured here is the Lucas Gusher monument, located at Spindletop/Gladys City in Beaumont, Tx. There are a FEW reasons why I wanted to take the girls on this adventure! For starters, my husband works in the oilfield, so it's a big part of our lives. The girls have known the oilfield life since before they were ever even old enough to walk!

I took them to Spindletop & Gladys City so they could really gain an understanding of the role that Spindletop played in the oilfield industry during the days of the oil boom. I also thought it'd be neat to show them how different life was back then!

Bonafide Baby #BabyCarSeatCovers Review

***Sponsored Post*** I received a Pink Chevron car seat cover from Bonafide Baby in exchange for my review. All opinions expressed in this review are genuinely my own.

As a mother, I am always looking for new products and ideas to help make parenting easier. As a result, I was delighted to have the chance to try the pink chevron cars seat cover, made by Bonafide baby. With my older two daughters, car seat covers were something that I never really thought about. My youngest daughter, however, was born with congenital heart defects, which means her immune system is weaker than that of a completely healthy person. As a result, I'd been in the market for a car seat cover as a way to ward off germs when in public places! With all of that being said, let's get down to business on this great product that I was able to try!

I was sent the pink chevron design to try. On the front, you've got a white & baby pink for the colors. I love the soft blend of these colors! On the back (as you can see in the top right corner of the collage) you have more of a hot pink coloring, with a super soft fabric (the front is more of a plain cotton fabric).

As you can see in the bottom picture of the collage, this car seat cover provides adequate coverage of the entire car seat. I love this because it really gives my daughter protection from outside disturbances (or germs) when we're in the grocery store! The soft fabric on the back also makes this cover a great makeshift blanket when nap time rolls around if we're our visiting friends or family!
